Captive Camera was invited by owner and chef Russell Auckbaraullee to capture the food demonstrations by Penthouse Catering at the Halal Food Fest in Mississauga, Ontario.
Halal Food Fest is the largest food festival in Canada that features halal food for the Muslim community.
Under Islamic law, meat must come from an animal that was killed according to specific practices.
Halal foods include grain products such as rice, pasta or bread, but they can't have been prepared with products such as alcohol, lard or vanilla extract, which are considered haram, according to Toronto Public Health.
Nov. 12, 2015 (Toronto, ON) - The St. Lawrence Market in downtown Toronto hosted the inaugural event Evening at the Market.
The event featured samples from St. Lawrence Market merchants and entertainment from DJ Amalia, Yonge Kings jazz band and Zero Gravity Circus.
Celebrity chefs and co-owners of Ruby Watch Co. Lynne Crawford and Lora Kirk were on hand to provide cooking demos for guests while Patrick McMurray was on hand to show his Guiness World Record oyster shucking skills.
The event helped conrtibute to FoodShare, a not for profit organization that offers innovative food programs and incentives to communities.

The Toronto Food and Wine Festival was a foodie's delight that featured delicious culinary creations at Evergreen Brick Works between Sept. 18 and 20.
Several celebrities including Curtis Stone, Gail Simmons and Chuck Hughes were on hand to present their latest tips and to greet fans.
