February 25, 2016 (Toronto, ON)

The Artists' Newsstand at Chester subway station celebrated the Bloor line's 50th birthday.  The celebration featured live performances, music, art, prizes balloons and cake.

The Artists' Newsstand was created by Jess Dobkin, showcasing local artists, writers and performers in a previously dormant newsstand at Chester subway station.

DJ Nik Red entertained the crowd with music and the celebration concluded with a family friendly burlesque performance by Dainty Smith.

The Bloor subway line opened in February 25, 1966 and is over 28 km long from Kipling station to Kennedy station.
